The Project
Set along Nowell Creek on Daniel Island, this custom home was designed around the lifestyle of its owner—a chef whose work and perspective directly influenced the way the home was conceived.
The interior is structured with clarity and restraint, reflecting the same discipline found in a professional kitchen. A streamlined culinary space prioritizes efficiency and precision, designed for use rather than display, while still maintaining a refined, modern aesthetic.
Architectural elements throughout the home reinforce this approach. A wall of windows opens the interior to the surrounding marsh, bringing in natural light and a constant visual connection to the landscape. Above, a suspension bridge introduces a distinctive structural feature, adding movement and dimension to the upper level.
The home also creates space for the rituals that surround the craft. A dedicated wine tasting room overlooks the water, offering a setting that is both functional and experiential—an extension of the owner’s profession into daily life.
The result is a residence that is deeply aligned with the individual it was built for, where design is shaped not just by style, but by purpose.
Photography for this home is on its way.
